Academic Advising at Clark
Academic advising begins in your first-year at Clark and continues throughout your career here. As a new student, you will be assigned a faculty advisor who will help you select courses and programs. When you declare your major you will select a new faculty advisor from your major department who will coordinate your advising until you graduate.
Clark's Academic Advising Center provides:
- Information about academic programs and policies
- Assistance exploring or clarifying choice of major
- Special advisors to help students having academic difficulties to strategize ways to improve their performance
- Evaluation of transfer courses and assessment of credits awarded
- Information about petitioning the college board for exceptions to academic policies
- Advice and counseling regarding learning or physical disabilities
- Assistance in conveying information about special needs to professors
- Assistance in obtaining academic and classroom accommodations, if needed
