Class note policies and guidelines for Clarknews
Alumni are always encouraged to send us their news for class notes. Please keep these guidelines in mind when submitting your news and information to be printed in Clarknews.
- The class note must be submitted by the alumnus/a who is the subject of the note. If a class note is submitted by someone other than the subject of the note, the subject of the note will be contacted for his/her permission before the information is printed.
- The news must pertain to the alumnus/a only, and not the spouse, child, friends or others, unless those people are also Clark alumni.
- E-mail addresses and Web sites will be printed, if provided by the alumnus/a as part of the class note. Clarknews does not publish phone numbers.
Photos
- Engagement photos are printed for engagement parties and bridal showers if at least 50 percent of the people are Clark alumni.
- Wedding photos are published.
- Baby photos are published if the baby is pictured with an alumnus/a, such as the parent(s), grandparent(s) or other relatives and friends. Clarknews does not print birth announcement photos of a baby alone.
- Family photos are published if at least 50 percent of the people are Clark alumni.
Please identify the people in photos you submit for class notes. People should be identified by first and last names, and class year, from left to right in the photo. In groups of more than 10, people will not be individually identified, but names will be listed. For wedding photos, please include the names of other alumni who attended the wedding but are not in the photo you provide. We like to list these alumni, as well.
We prefer traditional print photographs. Printed publications require photos at a much higher resolution than most commonly used digital cameras can provide. If you submit digital photos, they must have a resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch). If you submit a digital photo without knowing the resolution, please be aware that your photo may not be printed, per the discretion of the magazine editor.
