Recycling Program

Data

Presently crunching updated numbers for Fiscal Year 2006!

Recycling & Trash Generation Data
This file provides summary data of Clark's waste generation and recycling activities for fiscal years 2003, 2004, and 2005. More detailed information is available by contacting the Campus Sustainability Coordinator.  Last updated: July 14, 2005.

Trash Audit Results
This file details the results of Clark's first ever trash audit, held in honor of Earth Day on Monday, April 25, 2005. The purposes of the Trash Audit were to a) provide a snapshot of our solid waste composition in terms of general types and quantities; b) help determine what percentage of our trash could be recycled instead of being thrown away; and c) generate increased awareness of our waste generation here on campus.  Last update: April 28, 2005.

2005 College Comparison
This file compares Clark's recycling program with ten colleges that also participated in RecycleMania 2005. The electronic survey was conducted to gain knowledge of other programs that could potentially help Clark in improving our own recycling program.

Those not familiar with the RecycleMania competition should note that the data on rows 4 and 5 of the spreadsheet (RecycleMania recycling rate and pounds recycled per student) refers only to the recycling of paper, cardboard, and bottles & cans.

Thanks to Erica Spiegel, Jessica Engblom, Debbie Hanson, Nancy Apple, Terry Hawkridge, Sheela Backen, Barb Kviz, Marcy Bauer & Steve Gaski, Mary Jensen, and Carolyn Noack for providing information on their recycling programs! Last update: April 26, 2005.
