Mosakowski Institute for Public Enterprise

Mission of the Institute

Alsie House, Worcester MAUniversities conduct a great deal of research that seeks to both advance our knowledge and to enable us to make a positive difference in our world. Too often, however, this knowledge remains in the academy and does not find its way into the hands of those who could use it to improve public policies and programs and the lives of people they affect.

The mission of the Mosakowski Institute for Public Enterprise is to improve through the successful mobilization of use-inspired research the effectiveness of government and other institutions in addressing social concerns. Learn more about use-inspired research.

quoteThe Mosakowski Institute for Public Enterprise brings together the personal and professional interest of William and Jane Mosakowski in enhancing the effectiveness of government with the commitment of Clark University to draw upon the strength of its academic programs to make a difference in the communities of which it is a part in the United States and around the world.quote

The Institute focuses on important social issues, including education reform, environmental sustainability, access to healthcare, international development, and the welfare of children and families. The Institute achieves its mission through the promotion of an exemplary model of use-inspired research, sponsorship of research projects in collaboration with other research centers on and off campus, publications, conferences and student internships. The Institute funds a program of undergraduate and graduate student fellowships to promote student participation in use-inspired research and may be involved with other units on campus in new graduate programs and undergraduate curriculum initiatives.
